Colorpoints & Mitteds Accepted for Championship !
Effective May 1, 2008, the Ragdoll breed’s other two patterns, the colorpoints and the mitted, can be shown in the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) towards Championship and Grand Championship titles, as well as Regional and National titles, along with the bicolor and van patterns.
This means that all colors of mitteds will be competing together as one color class for their six winner’s ribbons needed to become a champion. Colorpoints of all colors will also in the same class against the mitteds for the same end goal. As numbers of cats in these patterns in competition increase, it will be possible for the Ragdoll Breed Council to request additional color classes for these patterns individually, as has already been done in the bicolor classes, i.e. the seals, blues, etc. With the bicolors at the moment, blue bicolors, seal bicolors and all other colors of bicolors (torties, lynxes, for example) and vans are judged in the three different classes.
Additionally, effective May 1, 2008, the AOV class will be abolished from our CFA show standard, meaning that only acceptable colors as listed in our standard will be allowed to be exhibited.
This is an important and monumental milestone for the Ragdoll and Ragdolls of America Group (RAG) would like to thank Isabelle Bellavance, CFA’s Rgdoll Breed Council Secretary, and all the other people who have attended the CFA Board Meeting over the past years in our quest for the acceptance of our mitted and colorpoint patterns for championship advancement in CFA and thus instrumental in the acceptance of our other two patterns. Our sincere thank you to all of you.
